About Adfactors PR

Basic Information

In 1997, two partners in Mumbai started a public relations firm on an unfashionable premise. Their line for it has barely changed in nearly thirty years: public relations, they argue, is "90 per cent behaviour and 10 per cent communications". Get the behaviour right, and the communication mostly takes care of itself. Rajesh Chaturvedi and Madan Bahal built Adfactors PR on that idea, and it has taken them further than almost anyone in the Indian industry expected. Chaturvedi is Co-founder and Chairman; Bahal is Co-founder and Managing Director; and after nearly three decades the two are still running the firm together — a founders' partnership that has outlasted most of the agencies that started alongside it. Today Adfactors PR is India's largest public relations consultancy, and not by a small margin: PRovoke Media, which tracks the global PR industry, describes it as the market leader in India at more than twice the size of its nearest rival. Its 2025 rankings put the firm at roughly 1,400 staff and fee income just under US$66 million — enough to place it among the five biggest PR firms headquartered anywhere in Asia-Pacific, and just outside the global top 50. It works with more than 700 retained clients across over 25 industries: conglomerates and banks, governments and public-sector bodies, startups and unicorns. It is also unusually clear about the work it will not take. The firm publicly declines business from tobacco, alcohol, meat processing and gambling — a stance that costs revenue and is stated plainly on its own website rather than buried in a values page. The practice is organised around sectors rather than press-release factories: BFSI & Private Capital, Pharma & Healthcare, Frontier Technologies, Fintech, New Economy, Mobility, Consumer Communications, Infrastructure & Core Sectors, Government & Public Sector, and a New Energy practice. That structure is deliberate — the firm's stated speciality is the complex, high-stakes brief where the answer is not obvious, and where, in its own words, the work starts with "robust problem-definition and customising the solution". The footprint is genuinely national, which is rarer in Indian PR than it sounds. Sixteen offices run out of Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Jaipur, Chandigarh (Mohali), Lucknow, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Kochi and Goa, with client work reaching around 40 cities. Beyond India, the firm operates in Sri Lanka — led by CEO Rezani Aziz — and in Singapore. Day-to-day leadership sits with Chief Executive Officer Nijay N Nair and Executive Director Nikhil Dey, alongside a bench of ten directors. The recognition has followed. PRovoke Media named Adfactors one of just seven Global Agencies of the Decade, and one of the top three agencies of the decade in Asia-Pacific. It was South Asia Agency of the Year four years running from 2015 to 2018, and Asia-Pacific Corporate PR Consultancy of the Year in 2018. It has collected more than 250 awards for campaign work since 2014. 2026 has been its loudest year yet on that front. The firm was named PR Agency of the Year at the afaqs! PR CommuniCon Awards (7 Gold, 6 Silver, 2 Bronze), Superior PR Consultancy of the Year at the BW Excel Awards (9 Gold, 7 Silver, 4 Bronze), Agency of the Year (Large) at the ET Kaleido Awards (8 Gold, 4 Silver, 4 Bronze), and PR Agency of the Year at both the Adgully Imagexx Awards (9 Gold, 6 Silver, 2 Bronze) and the Acko Drive MarCom Awards. At SABRE South Asia 2026 it took 7 trophies and 22 Certificates of Excellence, with further wins at Campaign India and Mad Over Marketing — including recognition for its best end-to-end AI campaign and its DEI messaging. The head office is at City Hall, Oasis Complex, Kamala Mills Compound, Pandurang Budhkar Marg, Lower Parel (West), Mumbai 400 013.
