About Daniel Lubetzky: Founder of KIND Snacks

Daniel Lubetzky (born 1968) is a Lithuanian-Mexican and American billionaire businessman and author who founded the American snack food company Kind LLC. He has also appeared in several seasons of the business reality series Shark Tank. The son of Sonia and Roman Lubetzky, a Holocaust survivor and Lithuanian Ashkenazi Jew who was a partner in the duty-free shop chains International Bonded Warehouses and United Export Trading Association, he was born and raised in Mexico City and moved to the US as a teenager. He graduated magna cum laude in economics and international relations from Trinity University in San Antonio, studying in Israel and France, and earned a JD from Stanford Law School in 1993. In college he created a retail watch operation, Da'Leky Times, and after law school worked briefly at Sullivan & Cromwell and McKinsey & Company. In 1993 he won a Haas Koshland Fellowship to write about legislative means to foster Arab-Israeli joint ventures, and while researching in 1994 discovered a sun-dried tomato product that became the foundation of PeaceWorks Inc., a "not-only-for-profit" business pursuing both peace and profit, whose flagship brand, Meditalia, is made through cooperation among neighbors striving to co-exist in the Middle East. In 2003, concerned about unhealthy snacking and rising obesity and diabetes, he launched Kind Snacks; in 2015 it was the fastest-growing snack company in the US. In 2010 he co-founded the luxury fashion venture Maiyet, in 2015 was named a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship, and in 2018 founded the New York family office Equilibra, rebranded as Camino Partners. As of November 2021 his net worth was $2.2 billion, and in November 2020 Mars agreed to acquire Kind. Sources: English Wikipedia (Daniel Lubetzky, accessed September 2026).
