About Evan Spiegel: Co-founder and CEO of Snap Inc.

Evan Thomas Spiegel (born June 4, 1990, in Los Angeles, California) is an American businessman, the co-founder and CEO of Snap Inc. He was the youngest billionaire in the world in 2015, and as of August 2025 Forbes put his net worth at $2.5 billion. The son of lawyers John W. Spiegel and Melissa Ann Thomas, he grew up in Pacific Palisades, was educated at the Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica, and attended Stanford University. He took design classes at the Otis College of Art and Design while still in high school and at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena the summer before Stanford, and had an unpaid sales internship at Red Bull. In April 2011 Spiegel proposed an app with ephemeral messaging as a product design class project. Later that year, with Stanford classmates Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown, he launched a prototype called "Picaboo", later renamed Snapchat. The app grew significantly, and in 2012 Spiegel left Stanford shortly before completing his degree to focus on it; by the end of 2012 Snapchat had reached one million daily active users. He later finished his remaining credits and graduated in 2018. Time named him one of the world's 100 most influential people in 2014.
