About Michael Stevens (Vsauce): American Educator & YouTuber
Michael Stevens was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and earned a degree from the University of Chicago before starting a YouTube channel in 2007 that initially covered video games. As his educational series DOT gained traction, the channel — renamed Vsauce — shifted toward exploring science, philosophy, psychology and culture through open-ended questions, becoming one of YouTube's defining explainer channels. He expanded it into a family of shows, Vsauce2 and Vsauce3, hosted by other creators, and in 2016 met President Barack Obama at the White House alongside a group of fellow YouTubers. In 2017 he created and starred in the YouTube Premium documentary series Mind Field, exploring the science of human behavior, and toured the country with Adam Savage on the educational stage show Brain Candy Live!. He co-founded the subscription science-and-magic box company CuriosityBox, and co-hosts the podcast The Rest Is Science with mathematician Hannah Fry. Vsauce's main channel has passed 25 million subscribers and nearly 7 billion views.
