Bhuvan Bam
Verified Macro Creator — Comedy, Music & OTTYouTuber (BB Ki Vines), actor, singer-songwriter and entrepreneur
The Delhi history student who parodied a callous news interview on a phone camera in 2015 and built BB Ki Vines into a 26.5-million-subscriber universe — playing every character in it himself.
About Bhuvan Bam
The video that made Bhuvan Bam famous was not a joke he had written. It was one he had watched. In 2015, a television reporter covering the Kashmir floods asked a woman how she felt about her son drowning. Bam — then a history student at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Delhi University, born in Vadodara to a Marathi family that had moved to Delhi — filmed a parody of that interview on his phone. It went viral in Pakistan, of all places. In June that year he started a YouTube channel and called it BB Ki Vines. The production values were as low as they get: a front-facing phone camera, one room, and no crew. The trick was that he played everybody. Bhuvan the fictional version of himself, Banchoddas, Sameer Fuddi, Titu Mama, Babloo, Janki, Mrs. Verma, Adrak Baba, Mr. Hola, Papa Maakichu, Detective Mangloo, Dr. Sehgal, and Babli Sir — better known to a generation of Indian teenagers as Angry Masterji. Two to twelve minutes at a time, he built an entire family out of one man and a phone. The videos went up on Facebook first, then moved to YouTube. Eleven years on, that channel has 26.5 million subscribers and more than 5.34 billion views, from just 195 uploads. The rest of the career grew out of it rather than away from it. In August 2016 he released 'Teri Meri Kahaani' as a singer, and kept going — 'Sang Hoon Tere', 'Safar', 'Rahguzar', 'Bas Mein', 'Ajnabee', 'Heer Ranjha' — eventually singing on MTV Unplugged. In 2018 he acted opposite Divya Dutta in the short film Plus Minus, playing Baba Harbhajan Singh; it won the Filmfare Award for Best Short Film in 2019. That December he launched Titu Talks, an interview series conducted in character as Titu Mama, and got Shah Rukh Khan as his first guest. Episode four, in March 2022, sat him down with S. S. Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. In May 2020 he used Titu Talks differently, interviewing an electrician, a house help, farmers, transgender Indians and milkmen about surviving the COVID-19 lockdown. By January 2021 his videos had crossed three billion views. In October 2021 he released Dhindora, an eight-episode web series he wrote, produced and starred in, straight onto YouTube — the point at which a creator became a production house. A second season has since been announced with Netflix India. January 2023 brought his OTT debut proper: Taaza Khabar on Disney+ Hotstar, in which he played Vasant 'Vasya' Gawde, a sanitation worker who wakes up with the power to see the future. He produced it too, and it returned for a second season. The same month he appeared in Amazon miniTV's Rafta Rafta. He is currently filming The Revolutionaries for Prime Video and a feature, Kuku Ki Kundli, opposite Wamiqa Gabbi, both due in 2026. In 2025 he launched SARKAR, a luxury fragrance label, which he now promotes from the top of his own Instagram bio. The industry has given him a mixed haul: the Filmfare for Plus Minus, a Bollywood Hungama Style Icons win in 2023 as Most Stylish Digital Entertainer (Male), and Filmfare OTT nominations for Dhindora in 2022 and for both Taaza Khabar and Rafta Rafta in 2023. Forbes put him on its 30 Under 30 list for digital content creators in February 2020, a month after he appeared at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He has been on the covers of Rolling Stone India, Grazia India and Hindustan Times Brunch, twice. He lost both his parents, Avnindra and Padma Bam, to COVID-19 complications in 2021. The numbers, read on 15 August 2026: 26.5 million YouTube subscribers, 20.7 million followers on Instagram across 1,708 posts, and 3.7 million on X, where he has been posting since August 2013 and still describes himself as an 'ambitious ladka'. Career Journey
A parody, and a channel
While studying history at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College in Delhi, he filmed a parody of a television reporter who had asked a grieving mother how she felt about her son's death in the Kashmir floods. The clip went viral in Pakistan, and in June 2015 he started BB Ki Vines — shot on a front-facing phone camera, with every character played by himself.
A Filmfare, and Shah Rukh Khan on the sofa
Plus Minus, the short film he made with Divya Dutta, won the Filmfare Award for Best Short Film. A few months earlier he had launched Titu Talks — an interview show he hosts in character as Titu Mama — with Shah Rukh Khan as the first guest. He also made the Rolling Stone India and Hindustan Times Brunch covers that year.
Dhindora: creator turns producer
He wrote, produced and starred in Dhindora, an eight-episode series released straight to YouTube, and sang two of its songs. By January that year his videos had crossed three billion views. It earned him a Filmfare OTT nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, and a second season has since been announced with Netflix India.
OTT lead, and a fragrance label
Taaza Khabar on Disney+ Hotstar made him an OTT lead as Vasant 'Vasya' Gawde, and he produced it; Amazon miniTV's Rafta Rafta followed the same month. He is filming The Revolutionaries for Prime Video and the feature Kuku Ki Kundli opposite Wamiqa Gabbi, and in 2025 launched the luxury fragrance label SARKAR.
